Employment Experience:
Shawn Hart was appointed as the Acting Assistant City Manager / Assistant KPU General Manager on March 11th, 2025, bringing over 15 years of financial management and municipal leadership experience. Shawn first came to Ketchikan in 2021 when he accepted the Finance Controller position, where he oversaw financial operations, compliance, and process improvements. His extensive experience also includes serving as Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Juneau, WI, and holding finance leadership roles in multiple municipalities.
Education:
A Certified Public Accountant, Shawn holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lakeland College. He is an active member of the Government Finance Officers Association.
Interests/Hobbies:
Shawn enjoys hiking the beautiful trails that the community has to offer, along with spending time with his family, traveling, and the occasional woodworking or LEGO building.
