The central dispatch center is the primary answer point for all 911 calls originating on Revilla or Gravina Islands. Dispatchers route emergency calls to the appropriate responding agencies, providing dispatch services to the Ketchikan Police Department, Ketchikan Fire Department, and North & South Tongass Volunteer Fire Departments. The Dispatch division is supervised by a Dispatch Supervisor and has 8 full time and 1 temporary dispatchers.
Dispatch and Communications Services: The dispatch center is open 24-hours a day for telephone or walk-in reports or problems. A number of city forms are available for the convenience of the public, e.g. accident report forms, bicycle licenses, street painting/sign requests, excavation permits, parking citation appeal forms, sex offender registration forms, etc.
Request for Police Report: You may request a police report by filling out a Police Report Request. Paper forms are also available at the Police Department lobby. Requests can be turned into the Central Dispatch Center or emailed to dispatchers@city.ketchikan.ak.us. Once request forms are received they are sent to the municipal attorney's office for approval. This process can take 3-5 business days. We ask that you check back with us after the 3-5 business days to see if your request is available.
Found Property: Found Property items such as wallets, cellphones, jewelry, & other items of significance are often turned into the dispatch center. If you have lost an important item you may call dispatch to inquire if it has been turned in.
