Job Description:
WATER SYSTEMS OPERATOR for the City of Ketchikan/KPU Water Division. Regular, full-time; $43.81/hr plus benefits. Performs skilled duties related to the treatment and delivery of potable and palatable water; responsible for the installation and maintenance of water mains, materials, piping, and facilities comprising the municipal water system of the City of Ketchikan. Four years or more of municipal water system experience. Experience obtained through a recognized apprentice or trainee program which will aid in gaining Level 2 Certification for both Water Treatment and Distribution is desirable. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License. Possession of a current or the ability to obtain an ADEC (Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation) within an agreed amount of time. Note that Issuance of those certificates also requires the recipient to have 6-years of verifiable work experience. Possession of a valid First Aid certification is desirable. Employment offer will be continent on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test. Position is open until filled. EOE/AA
